Hoping to move the media attention by his remarkable business problems, RIM has announced that the BlackBerry App World , the application store, has reached 3 billion downloads . Last April, the App World had celebrated his third compeanno and had been announced two billion apps downloaded. By a simple calculation, in the last three months, there have been a billion downloads.

The first billion was reached after 786 days, the second and the third after 210 after 175. BlackBerry users have downloaded an average of 2.5 million apps per day. For the third birthday, RIM also announced that there were 70,000 applications present in the store. To date, however, the applications are 90,000 (for both BB and for Playbook) coming from 28,000 developers.Source
