The excellent sales of the Galaxy series smartphones have enabled Samsung Electronics to achieve a record operating profit in the second quarter. Between April and June, Samsung has estimated an operating profit of about 5.9 billion dollars , an increase of 79% over the same period last year.

Samsung, currently the largest producer of smartphones in the world with regard to sales, has certainly benefited the high demand for its newest, the “flagship” Galaxy SIII . The Korean company expects to sell 10 million units by July . This would be the most successful product for Samsung. The company did not provide data broken down by the various divisions, however, according to analysts, the sector would telecomnicazioni more than doubled its profit and would represent about 70 percent of total profits Samsung.It is estimated that overall Samsung has shipped in the second quarter of approximately 50 million smartphones . In contrast to the telecommunications industry, the semiconductor divisions of the television would have suffered a slowdown in demand and lower prices during the quarter. Samsung will announce all complete results for the second quarter in late July.
