Three major TV manufacturers – LG Philips and Sharp – were united in an alliance to develop together the functionality of Smart TV – software additions to the TV, which allows to run multiple applications, as well as use the Internet.

These add-ins with similar capabilities offer several manufacturers, which hinders the development of each separate project. It is expected that the alliance Smart TV will utilities, widgets and other software elements that are compatible with models of all the partner companies.

It is obvious that the joint efforts of three TV producers want to achieve better results in competition with Samsung, which is likely to develop Smart TV on their TVs on their own.
