Sony Ericsson Announces New XPERIA Ray and XPERIA Active

Sony Ericsson has announced at CommunicAsia 2011 in Singapore the new XPERIA Ray and XPERIA Active , both based on the operating system Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 .

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Ray supports GSM / EDGE and UMTS / HSPA and has a 8.1 megapixel camera with Exmor R, front VGA camera, 3.3-inch TFT display with capacitive Mobile BRAVIA Engine and a resolution of 854×480 pixels, player multimedia, TrackID, WiFi, Bluetooth, FM Radio with RDS, 3.5 mm audio jack, 3D games, accelerometer, 300 MB of available memory, microSD support (4GB supplied), DLNA, aGPS with application Wisepilot and 1GHz. The size is 111 x 53 x 9.4mm and weighs about 100 grams. The 1500mAh lithium battery provides up to 7 hours talk time and 440 hours standby time.The Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray will be available in 4 different colors: gold, bainco, black and pink.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Active smartphone is a particularly suitable for those who lead a life of “active” and is resistant to water and dust.Among the technical features include a scratch-resistant display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, 1GHz processor , a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS with Wisepilot application, Media Player, barometer. The dimensions are 55 x 92 x 16.5mm to 110.8 grams in weight. The lithium battery is 1200 mAh.

Both smart phones hit the market in the third quarter of 2011. No information on sales prices.
