XDA member kbrn told us about the Gingerbread OTA update for HTC Evo 4G Shift: Apparently, the update will roll out on June 20 but today, the Sprint page said that the manual update is ready for download. All you have to do is go to Menu>Settings>System updates>HTC software Update and start the process. Word spread this morning that the Gingerbread (Android 2.3) update for the DROIDX would become available to some starting May 27 (this Friday), but according to a VZW employee at their community forums, the availability of the manual “pull” update for those not prompted, won’t go live until the following week on June 1.
